OIL CLEANSING METHOD with a twist

Have you heard of the Oil Cleansing Method (OCM)? It’s where you wash your face with oil. Wait…WHAT!? Won’t that make me break out? My face is already oily, why would I even think about slathering oil all over my face? These are questions that went through my mind when I first heard about this method. I decided to try it anyway based on the good reviews I had read about it.

This is my favorite way to cook veggies! It’s a quick and simple process, and the texture and taste are perfect! It’s also a healthy way to cook your vegetables in comparison to the microwave, especially in those steaming plastic bags that vegetables are coming in these days.

Homemade Whitening Toothpaste

This is already my second batch of this whitening toothpaste that I’ve whipped up. I got the recipe from Sophie Uliano’s site sophieuliano.com and fell in love with the minty clean feeling I get from using this toothpaste. The ingredients are inexpensive and go a long way.

DIY Utensil Caddy

I decided that I wanted to create something unique to hold utensils for my father-in-law’s surprise birthday party. I happened to be in the crafting aisle in Walmart when I noticed both the unfinished wood plaque and terracotta planters. I decided with some paint and glue, they’d be perfect! 

My Homemade Laundry Soap and Price Breakdown

I used to make laundry soap with one bar of castile soap, some washing soda, and borax, but now I decided to go back to something similar to the one I first made, with some changes. It seems to work so much better and everyone that’s tried it LOVES it! It really cleans your clothes, smells nice, and when I hang towels out to dry…I don’t have to fluff them in the dryer after! They are soft!

You are what your food eats. This is so true! What we eat goes into our system and organs and either helps us or hurts us, whether it be right away (i.e. indigestion), or in the long run (i.e. cancer). The same goes for our food’s food. 

DIY Painted Glass Table (with Chalkboard Paint)

I was sick of the glass part of my coffee table never looking clean, part of what goes with owning dogs. If there was one smudge on the bottom of the glass it showed! So….to make things easier for me, I decided to spray paint the glass with a few coats of Rustoleum Chalkboard Paint. It’s fun and reversible!! First I took the glass outside to spray it (after if was clean and dry). Then I let the paint dry for a full day. After that,

Our old farmhouse front door really needed an update. The cheapest way I could do that without getting a new door was to paint it.  I used “sundried tomato” from Sherwin Williams since I wanted a red/maroon colored door, and I loved the way that color looked as a back splash in my kitchen.
